Friday I'm In Love
I'd meant to post yesterday, but something happened. Something hit me.
Er, no. Not a piano. An idea. A pretty shiny brand spanking sparkly new idea.
Yanno. For a novel.
I have not written a new word since NaNo. No seriously. I honestly thought I'd lost my writing mojo. I tried so many times and got nothing. Couldn't even bring myself to fully finish the small revisions on Roulette.
Well, you know how they say it takes a village...
Apparently it takes a critique group to raise a pen. And raise it they did. I had two very awesome ladies talk me up, give me the pep I needed. Encourage me.
So, here I sit, Word minimized just so I can write this, with 5300 dazzling new words (<--you see, I'm still in First Love Stage) since yesterday. Newer than new. A completely different genre than I've ever ventured into. I'm nervous, I'm scared. My teeth are chattering a little. But, I think that may be from excitement.
So, ladies, I offer these in thanks for your little push out into the brave new genre. I wish I could buy you one at the bar. For realz.
I know all my authorly bloggy buddies will understand - this means I won't be making the rounds as frequently as normal. I will be huddled up to my keyboard, hoping the dogs can hold it for a really long time.
Please know, I won't forget you, new or old, and I will be back - it's a WiP after all, he's bound to start a fight sooner rather than later.
I know you won't forget me either.

You really are on fire, aren't you? Can't wait to read!!
;-)
And, you know us well...you chose the perfect cocktail. (though, Summer prefers hers sans salt...but I like mine just like the picture, rimmed in salt) (mmmmm)
I can't wait to read more of it. :)
Love,
Lola
And it's great that your critique group bubbies gave you that pep talk. There's nothing like the moral support of other writers to get the mojo working again.

Yvonne,
Write.
Be Happy.
Don't Fight.
Later :)
Go for it. When you get bored (or crazy) with it, let me know. We'll do lunch then.
Sara - how did I not know you had a blog?! I'm not giving up on J&K, promise. But thanks for your confidence in it :)
Cool! I just had a Shiny New Idea hit me last night, too (and here I'd wanted to do some reading "research" before I wrote again). Well, I won't start in too soon. I just jotted down the ideas and am letting it perc.

The feel of something new...
Yeah.
I've been absent from the blogworld since the holidays. The teen guy who headlines in my shapeshifter series finally looked me in the eye and said, "Let's rock and roll." I've been madly writing his story and am about halfway through now.
But he let me up for a little air (grin), so I thought I'd drop by and say 'hi'.
Yeah. The feel of something new...
Oh, and I also created a badge which is yours to copy and take in my latest post of welcome to romance crusaders. I'd be delighted to see it in each of our sidebars.
